Related Bible Terms. Exodus 23. To “wrest” is to pervert, change, twist, torture or abuse the divine text.

The point to be noted is that already when Peter wrote Paul's epistles were accepted as a part of the Scriptures.
Wrest. The ignorant and vacillating. This should be a warning to all in our day who twist … Post-modern approaches to the scriptures tend to ignore difficulties like the present one because they understand the possibility of reading several hermeneutic possibilities in a single text. Unto their own destruction. Not used.
Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of the poor. Active or moving power. But when one wrestles, … WREST, n. 1. In Psalms 56:5 ('atsabh); 2 Peter 3:16 (strebloo), it refers to the word or words of God in the Scriptures. Many misuse the Bible to justify sinful actions by taking a passage out of its context or misapplying the Scripture. Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
Jeremiah 23:36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
